Upon graduating from Highlands High School, Tricia went on to obtain her B.A. from Wake Forest University in Winston Salem. She moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she pursued a career in Information Technology working for major organizations including Computer Sciences Corporation and ING Investment Management. In 2005, her role with ING allowed Tricia and her family to relocate to New York City for three and half years where they lived in Manhattan and wholeheartedly embraced the city even giving up their cars! After giving birth to their first son, Wesley, they decided to move back to Atlanta to be closer to their families. Tricia finished her career with ING and, shortly thereafter, they moved permanently to Highlands and welcomed their second son, Christopher. When she and her husband, Alan, moved to Georgia in 1997 she earned her Georgia real estate license as well. From 2014-2018 she worked as a senior sales consultant in new home sales with the largest privately-owned builder in the nation, David Weekley Homes. Joyce earned a reputation specializing in selling luxury homes in north Atlanta and earned the J.D. Powers awards Sales Consultant of the Year 2015 - Atlanta Division and Sales Consultant “Definitely Would Recommend” Customer Service 2015 – Atlanta Division.     John vacationed in Cashiers in 1996 from the Florida Keys where he had cigar shops after retiring from Defense contracting in Washington, DC. Not finding a “decent” cigar anywhere in Cashiers, he came back two weeks later and opened Cigars of Cashiers. After two years of back and forth from the Keys to the Mountains, John decided that mountain living was for him. As the cigar boom waned, John got his Real Estate license and found his new niche here on the Highlands/Cashiers plateau.     Lynn has been a full-time real estate professional since 1973, spending the first 7 years in Northern VA, specializing in investor properties and first time home buyers. She moved to the Bradenton/Sarasota area of FL from 1980 until 1985, serving in general real estate and as the Marketing Director for a private island community in the Sarasota Bay. Lynn and her family moved to Highlands in 1985 after finding it on a three day visit to the area. The welcoming spirit of the Highlands people, the beautiful mountains and the quaint, historic town called out to me as a perfect place to raise my children and to have a better quality of life. Lynn was hired to represent the developer of Highlands Falls Country Club in 1985 as the Broker-in-Charge of their Sales Division. The Highlands Falls community took off like a rocket and our team sold it out by 1996. In 1996 Lynn purchased the real estate firm of Highlands Falls Realty and renamed the company “Signature Properties of Highlands”, working together with the same team plus additional agents. Signature Properties blossomed over the years to become the largest selling real estate firm in the Highlands-Cashiers area. In 2011, Signature Properties joined Meadows Mountain Realty. After working for Arthur Andersen & Co.’s Denver office as a construction and development specialist, he worked for the Snowmass Company development group In Snowmass Village, Colorado where he was involved with resort development, commercial development and management of a publicly traded REIT. After leaving Snowmass, he was part of a contract group tasked with the disposition of failed S&L assets through the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC). He later worked directly for the owners of Quark Software, managing their personal real estate investments, as well the facilities of the software company worldwide. He served on the Lone Tree, Colorado, Planning Commission for 5 years and was chairman of the commission for 2 years. Since 2006, he has been a licensed Realtor, currently with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices. He has the CRS, GRI and CMRS real estate designations. Most recently, Dave and his wife, Peg, relocated from Colorado to Sapphire, North Carolina where Dave joined Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Meadows Mountain Realty.     Michael is a licensed Realtor and builder in both North and South Carolina. His construction experience began in 1976 when helping his grandfather and father build a 2500 square foot cabin, milling all the lumber on site here on the Highlands/Cashiers Plateau. Since then, Michael has built and sold hundreds of homes ranging from 350 square foot tiny homes to 16,000 square foot luxury custom homes. Born in Winter Park, Michael is a native of Florida and attended Florida State University. After college, he worked with Turner Broadcasting, leaving in 1996 to start Horizon Technology Group, which became the first Cisco Partner to install 10,000 business customers on a pure IP network. After a successful career in technology, Michael got back to his roots in real estate where his experience developed through his building and construction business. She was offered a position at Blue Ridge Public Safety as an armed security officer and is currently the Captain at the agency. After 21 years of law enforcement, Angie decided it was time for a career change.     Growing up in Atlanta, John has been visiting western North Carolina his entire life. Spending summers on the plateau with his parents and grandparents, he developed a deep love for the area. After graduating from Ole Miss with a degree in Real Estate, he moved west to Vail, Colorado. While in Vail, he worked as a fly fishing guide, eventually starting his own outfitting service, as well as working as a property manager for second home owners in the area. With the arrival of their son, Shep, John and his wife, Charlotte, decided to move closer to home and chose the Highlands area. The main draw to the plateau for the Muirs was the quality of life and availability of outdoor recreation this region has to offer, especially fishing opportunities and great hiking along with a great community for raising a family. After moving from Colorado, John decided to put his real estate knowledge to work and got his NC real estate license.     Sherman Pope is a full-time real estate broker on the Highlands-Cashiers Plateau and holds real estate licenses in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. He was born in West Palm Beach, Florida, and raised in a farming family in Pahokee, Florida, along with his three brothers and one sister. After graduating from Florida State University with two degrees (Psychology and Criminology), Sherman went into business for himself and owned several gas stations, convenience stores, U-Haul businesses, and car washes. These businesses taught him how to buy and sell commercial property, maintain property, inventory control, and most importantly, human relation skills. In 2003 Sherman moved to Cashiers, NC, and was licensed as a North Carolina real estate broker in 2005.     Born and raised in Cincinnati Ohio, Cindy spent 35 years as a Certified Oncology Nurse at a busy hospital outpatient center before retiring from that career. During that time she was directly involved with the construction of her four previous homes and partnered with her husband Jim, a commercial broker, in the development of several office buildings in the Cincinnati area. After Cindy and Jim relocated to Cashiers as year round residents, she decided to embark upon a new career in real estate in the Highlands-Cashiers area. Community oriented, Cindy is active in her church’s women’s association and is a member of the Friends of Panthertown. She and her husband are also supporters of The Hospice House Foundation of Western North Carolina.     Having spent 20 years involved in the medical field as a respiratory therapist and owner of a successful respiratory equipment company, Mitzi sold her business in 2007. Armed with a lifetime affection for small town charm, she went off in search of her dream destination. And, as a result of many weekend visits to Highlands along with her husband Hammond, who is the co-owner of Franklin Ford in Franklin, they eventually bought their permanent home in Highlands Country Club. In the years following their move, while enjoying the wonderful restaurants, arts, plays and social environment of Highlands, they have also become deeply involved in all aspects of this small community…participating, donating and serving in leadership capacities for numerous civic and charitable organizations. Prior to moving to Highlands, utilizing her talent for decorating and design, Mitzi and Hammond have shared their passion for buying and renovating older homes in several southern communities including Charleston, SC and Gainesville, GA. She even worked on a cruise ship and traveled throughout Canada, the St. Lawrence Seaway and Novia Scotia and more. Most of her youth was spent in Cleveland, OH where her family is from and still resides today. In her travels she found the mountains of Western North Carolina and made it her prime vacation destination for over 5 years. Wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of the city she decided to make it her permanent home and has been in Highlands since 2006. She is the proud mother to her son, Rowen, and has become a staple figure in the community through community events and activities, volunteering, sports and school events. “Being the outdoorsy type, I couldn’t have stumbled across a better place to settle down, nor a better community to become a part of and raise a child in. Waterfalls, hiking trails, camping... small town atmosphere with genuine people. There’s just so many good people and so much to enjoy about living here.” While Faye’s degree is in Hospitality Management, she has worked in the financial and accounting industries as well as office management for quite some time.
